Default 2009 Audi A6 3.2l FWD Problems???

Just purchased 09 Audi A6 3.2l FWD from the action, only 34k miles and got it very cheap but....
Battery is dead ( for long time) - need to change it, jump started the car, she purr like a kitten. Problems: Traction control light is on, nothing else. The transmission hesitates and looks like skipping first and second gear. Its a CVT transmission! Does it have to be reprogramed?

Congrats on the car...based on what little info you've given, here's how'd I suggest you proceed:

1 - get us a vag-com dump of the codes on the car ASAP. Can't troubleshoot much without it, especially the tranny potential issues.

2 - bad news on the jump...these cars don't always take well to that and if you do a search it could be bad. Worse case is that you fried the MMI electronics. But without a vag and without troubleshooting (optical loop), it's a guessing game.

Now I have an ask of you, why did you buy a FWD Audi? I ask since someone recently asked me my opinion on a B8 FWD they were going to buy. I simply stated that buying a FWD Audi is antithesis of the entire purpose of the Audi 'spirit' - quattro all-wheel-drive. For that matter, get any <insert premium quality vehicle> and go drive it. Audi is synonymous with AWD/Quattro...but that's my subjective opinion.

RAJ,
I totally agree with you on Quattro!!!
I purchased 2007 Audi A6 Quattro from the action in September for my wife, And now October I got 2009 Audi A6 FWD for only $7100 with 34.000 on it, I'm not sure what to do with it yet resale or give it to my Mother.... But I certainly like to fix any kind of issues it may have.
Changed the battery no problems,
Found a bad fuse, changed it and now it shifts fine, will do full transmission service and oil change on it as well.
Im still trying to find cheap good used VAG-COM????
