Default A6 3.2 Fsi Quattro - ABS Module Recoding?

Hello All,

I am new to this board, and require some very urgent assistance with my A6. I have searched the forums and have found nothing conclusive.

Basically I had the notorious G201 Brake Pressure sensor fail in my abs module. I wasnt aware at the time of services such as BBA Reman & Module Masters at the time, so I purchased a 2nd hand unit on ebay.

My original ABS module part number was 4F0614517L, as inscribed on the hydraulic unit. The part i purchased has the identical part number as well.

I swapped the units out and bled the brakes, only to see a few different trouble codes appear. See here;

I have managed to clear the steering angle fault (00778), and the System Function Test (01486)

I cannot clear 18055, 01314, and 01321.

Anyone with any assistance or information on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

I have mailed the full autoscan to Ross-Tech but I didnt receive any feedback from them - I do own a genuine vag-com hex-can-usb cable purchased from hexdiagnostics south africa. So I am a bit stuck for help.

I would suggest you send you module to get repaired as it is very likely that it is the culprit to your problem. The pump hardly ever goes bad.

Hey thanks for the response.
So you suggest that I send the replacement part away for repairs??

When i installed the new part, the cruise control started working again and the G201 error went away.

Just these new errors remain - which i think requires some fancy coding changes that I have no idea how to do.

OP, that totally stinks. I highly doubt you can recode the new <used> module. If I were in your shoes, I'd have your original module sent out to be repaired. In the meantime, re-list your used module back on eBay. If you're lucky, someone else will buy it.

Otherwise, please see: Audi A6 (4F) Brake Electronics - Ross-Tech Wiki

"Most repair manual sources do not cover this Bosch 8.0 ABS system. When the module is replaced with new it is advised to use the original coding value from the old unit. If this is not possible, registered users can contact us directly with a complete Auto Scan and VIN number."

I have successfully recoded the module. The trouble was an error on my part for not saving the code before replacing the module. For a 3.2 Quattro with ABS Module 4F0614517L the correct soft coding is 0020895.

The unit i purchased second hand, although identical part number came off a 2.7 tdi quattro - when i plugged it in, somehow that code of 0020875 was identified by the vehicle.

As you can see they are just 1 digit off - being so similar i thought 0020875 was the correct code and I was missing some other steps..

Did some googling and found an auto-scan from another 3.2 with the same part ID and used that soft code.

Now all is resolved, no more xmas tree dashboard and annoying beeps.. I've never been this relieved in my life!

I also purchased a used part from a wrecker. How do I get it to work with my Audi?
