A6 MMI 2G Upgrade - Lost features!
Hi All,
I've upgraded my A6 (C6) using the latest software (5.5.70) to help with the blue tooth system on my iPhone as well as a the 3d navigation, however I've lost some features, and I can't seem to find a way of getting them back.
Any pointers/codings welcome...
1. Bose centre speaker
As part of the upgrade, the firmware promises "improved sound" from the Bose setup. No. In fact I've lost the audio from my centre speaker entirely. There isn't anything in the fader settings that I can see.
2. Speed Alerts
This one actually gone from any of the menus... I used to have an option in the instruments section about speed alerts. When it gets to a certain speed, it beeps. The setting is still valid, but now the option to change it has gone from the menus.
I managed to borrow a VAGCOM and turn back on the battery meter, but I'm struggling with these.
Thanks in advance... :-)
Sven.

1. I don't think I lost my center speaker, but then again, I went to 46.1 so I'm guessing you're not in the US.
2. I also lost the 'Instrument Cluster' setting in MMI. I'm not sure how to get it back but I'm assuming it's hiding in the hidden menu since the other settings I had lost such as climate controls and batter meter during the update were enabled from there. I'll have to mess around with things this weekend and see what I find.

Hi There
not sure if this has been answered but in case not
I found how to get the 'Instrument cluster' menu back up so you can get to the 'Speed Warning'
you need to enable the hidden menu using VCDS tools .
then go into the hidden menu as per the instructions for getting the battery level back ( press the car & setup buttons at the same time for 5 secs )
then
find DIAG SETTINGS
got to
APK 0*01,0*0B,0*0C
find
BORDCOMPUTER
and tik this box.
after acept changes
restart MMI
and..... you will see in the CAR menu
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
cheers

Ok, so part of the "enhanced audio" appears to be tweaks to the volume levels depending on the fader settings.
I'd had it knocked towards the rear by a few notches. Before that would just reduce the entire front speaker set, but now it basically turns of the centre speaker! The volume to hat is lowered at a higher rate than then ones in the footwell/doors.
Moving the fader to the front by just a couple of notches brought it singing back to life and the audio is now more focused up front.
Nice to know :-/
I'm back to normal, and everything is now working as expected.
