We have 2 failed front outer parking sensors on our S6.

Audi want $200+ each

So was wondering if they are the same as the A6 then maybe we can find them online cheaper?

Do the cheap ones need any coding or have reliability issues?

Can you give the part number for the sensor? If Audi quoted you a price for the sensors, then they will have a party #. These sensors tend to be generic across models, so would be surprised that the S6 is any different from the A6. As for the price, that better include installation and paint

The paint code will be on the label in your Service hand book or on the label in the wheel well.

Watch ebay, you can certainly buy used there much cheaper than new at the dealer and these don't seem to fail too often. I got lucky and found a complete set that were painted the right color for my A6. I only needed one, but bought the whole rear set for $80...
