Just a reminder that I need the drivers side in case someone comes across a set and only needs the passenger side and wants to split.

I also got the dreaded left motor malfunction error. Where are folks purchasing the headlights from? Aftermarket/OEM? From what I'm reading its recommended to change in pairs to get an even lighting effect.

I still don't have it replaced. Just too expensive for anything I've found. If someone gets a deal on a set and wants the passenger side, I'll go for the driver side.

I had the dealer replace both of my adaptive headlights before I finally gave up on my old car. It does seem to be a problem in our cars as they age.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. As per them, the motor can be replaced without having to replace the entire headlight.

The motor costs $111 and they think it can be replaced in a hour or maybe even half an hour (@$195/hour). A lot better than replacing the entire headlight.

Part number for motor is: 4f0941293A

Here is the error that I am receiving

I have the suspicion that the dealer thinks that my self-leveling motor is broken. Still researching if replacing only the motor is even an option!

I would love to hear that you had success with this. I don't believe the self-leveling motor is the issue probably even for you. Do your lights move up when you turn the car on? If so, I don't think that's the issue. The issue is turing the light around the corner when you go, which is what I read your error code (the same as mine) to be. I was previously told that I couldn't replace that motor alone, but sure enough, you seem to have found the part and if it works for you, I will definitely do this for me! I have a headlight assembly I think has a good motor with broken clips I suppose I could try.

Believe me. It is not a motor problem.
There are many thin wires in the the headlight assembly, and they are prone to insulation damage or cut due to heat and vibration. I tried to repair wires after dissecting the plastic housing but gave up because insulation of wires crumbled every time I moved them.

I don't recommend used parts since they will fail soon.

This was best price I found.

Thanks for the feedback.

I had my dealer check out my lights and he thought it was the motor itself, but it totally could be the wires. For a car of this age it's just not worth the cost. I wish I could just trick the system so it wouldn't flash and beep.
