Default Advance key door handle sensor issue

Hi fellow C6 drivers

I have the advance key and ever since I got my C6 I need to open the drivers door twice in order for it to open, when the car is locked. However all other doors open with just one attempt. After hooking up the VAG-COM I get this fault code.

Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

Can't ID the VAG code from your listing, but the Bentley Manual states that the door handle touch sensor must be replaced as a unit. So if you have a bad sensor, then that is what you're looking at to fix the problem. Try clearing the code, and see if it reappears.

I did clear the code twice already. It just comes back on though.

Here's the complete error message.

With an open circuit, you probably have a broken wire(s) in that circuit, or a bad handle sensor.

if you don't mind taking pics and doing a quick write-up on how you take apart the door panel, it would be very much appreciated.

also, pls keep us posted as i too have this problem with my right-rear door.

thanks in advance.

Revangel - I didn't forget about you.

Here is how I solved my problem. Per A6Gary an open circuit means its not communicating with the sensor, it turns out I have an open circuit because my sensor wasn't connected. I wish I would have checked the handle before going out to buy a new one. Anyway... here is what I did...

I used Elsawin to find directions on removing the door handle. I took a few pictures with my cellphone so you can see whats entitled.

Removing the door trim:

This is very basic, there are 4-5 screws if I remember correctly. I pulled from the side vent where the sub is and then pulled the panel upwards.

Removed window frame,sub and regulator:

You are going to need Elsawin to find out which bolts to remove. Removal of the lower speaker sub is required in order to get to a couple bolts under the sub.

Most door parts removed:

My intentions were to replace the entire door handle so I removed everything prior. However.. if you look closely you will see a white cover inside the door. If you remove the door trim and then remove this plastic cover you should be able to get to the connectors for the sensor.

Connections:

The top left connector was disconnected on my door. At this point I decided to test handle and put everything back together.

I am in no way a mechanic, patience is key here though.

Revangel - if you take the door trim off and remove the white door cover you should be able to see the connections.

Hope this helps and Thank You to everyone who has helped in answering my questions.

Hey guys, reviving an old thread here because I now have the same issue. I have the same fault on the passenger side. A friend and I have gotten the handle off but there are a couple connectors that are broken off. Specifically a red connector that we cannot seem to figure out what it connects to. We ordered a new "handle base" that will hopefully have the right connectors.

Here are some pics of our situation:

Can someone repost the pic of the handle itself? That photo seems to have disappeared from the archives.

Any help is appreciated.

How did you make out with this repair? I am showing three out of four doors with this fault... is it necessary to remove the window and regulator or can you (at the very least) access the plugs?

You can access the plugs after peeling back the insulating foam, but it is difficult. Had to replace the hand touch sensor (second photo in my first post) to get things working again. Think it was about $50 used. Unfortunately, piecing it back together broke the button to lock the doors from the outside, so I fixed one issue and created another.
