Default Air suspension problem.

The front left corner is down. I was driving home and the yellow AS light and the green AS with arrow pointing up was on. I got home and turned off the car then turned it back on in the driveway and it all lights went off. I put the car in the garage, turned it off and sat in the car for 15 mins without opening the door. Aso soon as I opened the drivers door to get out i heard air released from front drivers side and it lowered.

I turned the car on but it would not raise the front anymore.

New bag struts or something else?

Found this online.. Remanufactured Front Left Suspension Air Spring Bag Strut | Audi A6 Quattro (C6/4F) 2006-2011

Thanks,

More info...

I plugged the VagCom in and here is what I got. I cleared all codes then started the car before running again.

Also I noticed that when I first turn the car on the front tries to raise although after a few seconds I am hearing some hissing on front left.

Then after approx. 30 seconds I hear the compressor stop.

I am really thinking its something in the front air damper. I do not hear the hiss from the passenger side.

Update... Brought my car to mechanic. He said the air bag is leaking as well as the strut which had the fluid coming out. Whole strut will be replaced.

I called the dealers around me. One said $1483 and another is $1311 for the same part. That does not include labor.

My mechanic will be providing part and labor for $750.

All of the above is for a single front strut.

They will replace just one? Shouldn't they be done in axle pairs?

you really should do both fronts, it wont drive quite right, and the other one is right next to go. you can damage the compressor running on leaky bags, so it would be in your best interest to do both...

I replaced one. I read somewhere that air suspension may not need to be replaced in pairs. Something about springs loose/change their tension over time but the airbags do not.

I do remember hitting some pretty bad potholes with the strut that was replaced. The potholes that make you brace for impact, inhale and hope you don't get a bent rim or pop the tire. I'm guessing they may have had something to do with it. Its one of the prices of living in one of the 5 boroughs of NYC.

I have been driving the car for about a week now and everything seem to be normal and no noticeable differences.

I will be changing cars in probably 2 years so I will ride it out and if the other side goes I will replace it.
Thanks for the advise though.
