As far as I can see the Bentley Manual will not work with Windows operating system newer than Windows XP. Any alternatives out there that actually work with computers less than 7 years old? Also, I am not willing to use a virtual desktop to solve this problem.

All you need to do is be in 'XP Mode' Download Windows XP Mode from Official Microsoft Download Center

Furthermore, you can even do it within Windows 8.

with all data you just pay yearly and you get access to the manual?

you can also buy "ELSA win" on fleabay. Works on Win 7 and also supports the C6.5 which it appears Bentley does not.
