When you tap on the headlight lightly with your hand do you hear the internals vibrating?

Any update regarding the dealer fixing shaking/wobbling HIDs? I think it's just the driver's side on my car that shakes but it's getting more pronounced. Really wobbled all over the place with a full load of passengers the other day.

I believe I saw somewhere that it's possible to manually adjust the angle of the lights and that that has helped some. How does one do that? The TSB does not mention that adjustment, just to check for broken internals or loose mounts.

Anyone have any advice for this? I really don't want to take it into the dealership if I don't have to.

Thanks!

There is a TSB for this and an updated part. I had to press my dealership but they finally admitted to it and replaced both my headlight under warranty.

Check out the TSB here: http://uberlame.com/a6_tsb/Lights/He...%20vibrate.pdf

It basically says to check to make sure the headlights are mounted properly and the mounts are not damaged. If not, the tech is instructed to refer to TSB 2018787.

I was never able to get a copy of TSB 2018787 from the dealer but is stated that if the headlights are of the adaptive type and below a certain part number they need to be replaced. As such, both mine were replaced and they are now solid as it should be. Don't let the dealer feed you crap if they tell you the vibrations are normal, they are NOT.

It is a very slight vibration (like they're loose or something), but very annoying. Anyone else experience this? Am I the only one that gets bugged by it?

Sorry to bump an old thread, but the shaking on my lights has gotten so bad on my '06 A6 Avant, I need to do something about it.

1) Are there parts to replace inside or do I need to source whole new assemblies?
2) What is the correct part number for the '06-'08 HID units with the adaptive AFS?

Thanks!

Replacing the bulb will not fix the issue. The entire headlight unit needs to be replaced.
