I'm guessing you don't mean Cavendar.

Yes, not the dealer. Or of their Audi mechanic who works on the side

Did you take a look at Austin Audi?

I think Audi dealer is quite expensive.

True enough, but one reason for that is because they have the diagnostic and repair tools that others simply can't afford. Is there an Audi owners' club in San Antonio?

I believe there is one in Austin. But I believe they may need some special tools possibly but since this is a mechanical repair which involves resealing the timing chain cover, I don't know if you need diagnostic tools per say. The dealer wants like $3000 which is way too much I think.
I am quite handy but this is a bit more involved. I do have an engine lift, Ross tech vag com, and specialty sockets etc.

I have a 2010 A3 TDI and I am looking for some place in Austin to do a brake job (and honestly assess whether I need to replace the rotors when I will be selling the car back later this year). Do you have a shop in mind? Preferably one where I can bring aftermarket parts? Thanks, in advance.
