The stealership quoted over $400 to fix this!
another simpler approach is to take a square piece of plastic and tape it under the hose and over the electronics. If it leak - the plastic sheet will deflect it.
I did it as the second level of precaution.

Thanks, I'll apply that as well. Heck, I might disable the rear washer altogether.

just do not wrap the plastic around the electronics - they need some air circulation for cooling

Ok so I'm ready to knock this project out. $80 still seems high for some rubber hose, heatshrink, and connectors. Anything special about this parts aside the price? I'm pretty sure that if they aren't, then I can source this stuff probably for a quarter of the price.

of course you need to buy from Audi. They screwed up with the TDI engines and now they need every penny of your money to fix the issue.

I looked through that parts list on the TSB and some of the part numbers don't exist anymore. Anyone have the full list that details all of the parts that are needed for this fix?

I checked all of the P/Ns listed in TSB #92-06-01 at genuinevwaudiparts.com, and all are available. Here are the P/Ns and quantities listed:
(2) 1J0-955-875
(2) 1J0-955-875-R
(2) 000-979-992
(as needed) 000-979-950 (cloth tape)
(as needed) N-018-046-6 (hose, 5 m to a roll)
(2) N-909-377-02

Thank you Gary. I went over the TSB section and they had that list in the black box. Looks like they are out of their mind for asking $24 for once piece of heatshrink considering that 2 are needed. I think I'll skip on the heatshrink and probably the rubber hose and source them locally. Probably will only need the cloth tape and connectors.

Default Rear Washer / Wiper question

I have tried searching without any luck... Sorry to revive this older thread (but it's not really that old...)

I have ordered the parts to do this TSB. (2006 A6 Avant). I need to replace the rear wiper blade as well and bought a Bosch equivalent (H772) to this wiper (Audi part 4F9-955-425) locally.

However, the wiper that came off was about 1-2 inches longer (first time I have replaced since I bought from previous owner). It wiped the rear glass without being too long, and I would like to retain the bigger wipe area.

Is there a part number any of you guys are using for the bigger wiper? Is there a procedure or tip you use for replacing (snapping in) the new wiper so you don't break the plastic notches on the wiper arm? (Don't ask me how I know, that's a $61 mistake)

Thanks!
