Default Brake Pad Recommendations for my S6

I have a 2009 S6 and I need brake pads. I'm a long time Honda/Acura owner, so I'm not familiar with what high performance pads are available for my S6. I want a high performance pad that does not dust off or squeak like Hawk pads. I won't be tracking my S6, so they don't need to provide that level of performance. So guys, any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mario.

Checkout Akebono brake pads. I installed them on the rear on my A6 Avant and on my '98 Dodge Ram PU. I wasn't looking for high performance pads, but they are low dust (compared to the OEM compound). They probably make performance pads as well.

Dust is a little price to pay for Audi's great braking feel. Don't put your security at risk for aesthetics. Look for genuine Audi S6 Brake pads on ECS tuning.

Also check your rotors for wear. When they cool off, slide your finger from the surface to the edge to see if there's any considerable difference. If there is, you should replace the rotors as well and I recommend genuine as usual.

I would recommend stock as well. I replace my rotors every other pad set. I have tried other pads, including ceramic, but the feel difference is significantly worse regardless of the dust saving. $500 in parts gets you 2 rotors & a pad set. Pretty decent for the pie plates we have as rotors on these things.

I tried Brembo in place of my stock A6 pads and didn't like the loss of friction. I have now switched to EBC reds and am happy with them. They actually dust less than the EBC greens on my wifes SUV. I've run Hawk HPS's on my project car, the only downside was how quickly they wore the rotor.

I presently have Hawk HPS pads on my Ford Flex and love them. It's a pretty heavy vehicle, and those pads bring it to a stop quickly. Yes, there is some dust, but that's ok with me.
