C6 Bluetooth telephone problem (UK)
I have a 2008 a6 with high mmi 2g. Mmi states telephone not installed so am I correct in assuming there is no Bluetooth unit installed. I have searched eBay and can purchase a unit. Does anyone know of a installer who could retro fit this in the north east of England?? My cd changer has a AMI with 30pin connecter. Tried fitting a lightning adapter so could connect my iPhone 6 but with no success. Really want to use my phone hands free and ideally have the sds acticated. Anyone any ideas??

Thanks for the reply. My issue is that the telephone says not installed. When you press the phone button. There is no settings option.

Hi, my q7 with mmi2g had the same thing....requires a new bluetooth module...but before you do that get it plugged in to vcds to see if ur bluetooth element is enable/coded to allow hands free calling...not locked to car phone if u have one...my new module although ive got other issues with it, required it to be able to go hands free and connect via Bluetooth.

You can bring up the "hidden red menu" by pressing CAR + RETURN, and hold the buttons down for 5 seconds or so. That will display a list of the MMI devices installed in the car, along with their h/w and s/w versions. Scroll through and look for Handyvorb2 or something similar. If you see it, then you have BT installed.
While you are in here, go into Interfacebox and look for the line called Software Index. That lists your MMI version. In my car it is 4610, which is the last and most recent version for MMI 2G High. If your M MI version is older, that could also be why you are not able to connect to your phone.
