Audi bug posted one of the best headups on who makes what oil and specs..you'll be surprised who makes the 502 spec.

I always used Shell helix ultra 5w-40 on previous cars and latest 2 Audis.. No problems!

(do they sell Shell oils in Us?)

Another question on oil for the gurus:

As the engine accrues high mileage, do we continue using the same weight (0w-40) or should be start going to a different weight? My car has 64k miles - at what point should I consider switching?

I've used Mobile 1 for 6 yrs and 95000 miles in my 2003 3.0 no problems. Used 1/2 qt in last 10,000 miles. Now using in my 2008 3.2 no problems -no oil consumption.
