Default Fuel Guage question - 05 3.2 sedan

I changed the fuel pump in Mrs 4D4's 05 a few weeks ago. I could swear that the post install gauge reading seemed high. I double checked the float and it is functioning correctly. Today she ran it down to where the needle was just into the red, no low fuel light. At the gas station, I put 19.3 gallons in. Is that consistent with what others are seeing? How much fuel to fill the tank once the light comes on?

For my '06 A6 Avant, that amount is about what I fill up with when the low fuel warning is lit.

Yes, gauge can be calibrated. In retrospect, I should have used my VAG-COM to check the level *before* I pumped the gas.

I'm tempted to throw a gas can in the trunk and drive until it dies.

19.3 gallons and no 'fill-up now' indicator seems a bit off. I know that my 4.2 takes 21 gallons and the light to show low fuel, shows up with over 2 gallons in the tank.
