is there a year and model of A6 that has headlights with LED daytime lights, and can those headlights be retro-fit to a 2006 A6 Avant ?

Are you referring to the strip of LED lights that act as DRL? If so, the answer is yes. They can be retrofitted...but be aware the parts are not cheap. If you do a search on this forum you'll find there was a group buy for the headlights awhile back.
