Default Help with broken vacuum line

I broke this vacuum line (touch it and it snapped like a potato chip) and need some help finding were it goes. As far as working on vacuum lines is seems fairly simple but this one stretches around the RSF (driver side) of the engine. If you know of a DIY please post a link I could not find one.

Also the insulation around wire leading to coils driver side is crumbling…what is the best fix for this?

Info: 2006 A6 3.2 with 68,000

You can use a good flexible vacuum hose to fix it. That end goes to Leak detector Pump.

Thanks Oaktree for the response but I can not figure out how to replace the hose due to how packed everything is on the side of the engine. Do you have to take out the head light or just push everything out of the way? This hose does it continue all the way around the engine or stop about midway?

I would love to hear from you or someone who has replaced this vacuum line with some pointers for this greenhorn.

No need to spend that much money ($74) !!!!
You need 3.5mm ID silicone vacuum hose like one below. Cut off the existing hard line and make it as an male adaptor.
If I am redoing it, I will buy a vacuum line adaptor for the side under the power steering fluid reservoir to make it stronger.
You shoud be able to get all of them at Autozone.

I just wanted to say thanks Guys especially audi bug . I ran the new line with very little trouble. Cleared the codes and drove over a 100 miles without the CEL coming on. Vacuum line and clamps for less than $5.
