HELP!! Spyder Aftermarket LED Tail Lights
I purchased these spyder tail lights for my 2005 A6 4.2 S-Line.
I installed the lights along with error free reverse and turn signal LED's. I've also went into VCDS and changed the codings.
First I subtracted 0004096 from my current coding which was 0424125 so that gives us 0420029 and that allows the turn signals to work fine.
Next, I subtracted 0131072 from 0420029 which then gives us 0288957 and that allows the brake lights to work.
Now.... everything works but now the lights flash in sequence. Firstly the right brake light, then reverse then turn signal then license plate lamps then the same happens to the left tail light. I do not know how to overcome this... I tried putting a 50watt resistor on each turn signal bulb to see if that would have an effect but it does not.
I do know the reason why the LED's flash in that order is because the car is performing a "Cold Diagnostic check" to see if there's a bulb out because the wattage/resistance is not right.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You either need to disable the diagnostic check (which I would not recommend) or have the system send less power during the check. But I don't know how to do that kind of coding, sorry.
BTW can you show the car with those taillights installed? I'd like to see how they look like.

I think you guessed right. LEDs need less power than bulbs to illuminate. The diagnostic checks probably send a "tiny" amount of power to the bulbs/LEDs to check them. The bulbs wouldn't illuminate but the LEDs would. I noticed this on my car after installing license plate LED lights and figured it was this. It happens every 60 seconds or so.

Tried for 2 days straight trying to get the cold diagnostic off.

I think I have found a solution. The tail lights I purchased were 6 pin... my 05 s-line has 7 pins at the connector. I contacted the manufacture and found that there was a "V2" version 2 of the tail lights. The V2 is 7 pin and should work fine. In the process of ordering the V2 lights, will update!
