Default how to hedge for timing chain failure

ok, I see more messages about timing chain failures in 2006 3.2L engine. I have one in my car with 140K on it. So I want to hedge the related failure risk.
I guess I can apply following strategies:

1. buy insurance on the engine. (I would guess $2000 for a couple of years).
2. wait until engine make noise and immediately fix it (I would guess $800 to fix it plus 50% chance that whole engine need to be replaced at let say $5000)
3. spend $800 right now and replace the tentioners preemptively.

So what is the probability that the tentioners or the chain will give in the next few years and 50K? Is this a function of time or mileage? Does it depend on the driving style or what oil I use and how often I change it?

As I get older and wiser "cough, cough" I am a firm believer that you don't fix it if ain't broken. You can wait till it starts ticking, or when the chain guides fail or do the right thing and hook up VCDS to look at the timing blocks to see how much the car is compensating for worn guides/tensioners or whatever that boogieman thingy is.
Insurance is always a good idea... but I don't have one so don't listen to me!
