Perhaps Togo has no enforceable speed limits but I believe the only other place where 130 mph is not illegal is on the Autobahn in Germany. In the U.S. the top speed limit is 85 mph on a stretch of highway in Texas with other top speed limits at 80 mph in some other western states and most in the 60-75 mph ranges elsewhere in the country. 130 mph would likely end you up in jail anywhere in the U.S. and probably as well in most other countries (other than on a racetrack).
Of course, we don't advocate breaking the law here in the AW forums, right?

I did 180 mph in a stock car at Pocono raceway. I did 155 mph in an A6 on the Autobahn. I have hit the speed limiter in the US (it was a weekend morning at 6 am on a deserted interstate).

The author has the license plate in the full view. I guess 130mph is legal wherever he did it. Or he is already arrested by a cop watching youtube.

That is right. Inter city roads here only have limits in small villages (50km/h). Outside the villages, there is basically no speed limit. I enjoy it for now but that may change with the construction of new roads with international standings.

Wasn't breaking any laws so not encouraging anyone to do so!

I drove on the Autobahn a few years back from Frankfurt to Hamburg and back to Frankfurt the same day but that was with a Renault we rented. The max I did was 110mph. At 110mph, I was being passed by mostly Audis and Porsches like if I was standing still. And you could see the drivers driving only with one hand and comfortably at that speed. Amazing!!!

If I was to have bought my 4.2 A6 a few years back on the very first drive on the motorway with no traffic I'm certain I could easily have hit 120, before I realized how fast I was going and eased of the gas considerably...that's a all hypothetical though

Nope. There might be some exceptions, but generally, A models are limited to 130 mph. S models to 155 mph unless you order them with all-season tires and then they are limited to 130 mph as well. RS models are limited to 174 mph, except for the RS7 Performance which is limited to 190 mph. The R8 V10 Plus has the highest limit at 205 mph.

The fastest I've driven so far on public roads is 174 mph in Germany during my European Delivery trip with the RS5. That was a blast.

It kinda shows what's wrong with driver education, traffic laws, the infrastructure and car roadworthiness in the USA considering that people in Germany regularly drive at these speeds on the Autobahn and still have less highway fatalities per capita. I grew up in Europe and learned how to drive there. 65 mph speed limit on the highway is simply pathetic.
