Hi gang,

I've done quite a bit of searching and can't seem to find a clear answer (if there is one). My daughter's A6 key fobs seem to unlock and lock the car (proximity as well as remote buttons) just fine. But neither fob will allow the keyless start to function. The actual key-switch works so we have no problem driving it but she would like to be able to leave the key in her purse.

Does this sound like a programming issue (hard to believe since the unlock/lock mechanism works via proximity)?

I replaced her keyless ON/OFF switch about 6 months ago because her old one had a crack in it. Could I have purchased a faulty switch (anyone know how to test it)?

Try changing the battery into the remote. And if you have or know somebody with a vcds, scan the car and see if you have fault in the system.

Well, low and behold I unplugged re-plugged the Start/Stop switch and it's working fine again. It was just a loose connector. Lesson learned on purchasing the cheap one I expect.

I had the same problem put new batteries in and all is good now

try to press the off button about 3 seconds and then press the start engine button.
