Ok - hoping that there's a sensible explanation what happened to me last night...

I was enjoying an apres ski in the parking lot with a few of my friends.

- I had opened the car with the key fob, opening the hatch and the passenger front door. I closed the hatch after loading my gear.

With only the passenger front door open, I started the car - and then closed the door.

After a few minutes, a friend needed a beer - so like a good friend, I went to open the door to get him one - only to find that the doors were all locked and my car was running.

At this point, I am 30 miles from home, 5 degrees F and really pissed off.

Anyone have a clue as to how this can happen? There is absolutely NO way that I hit the lock button.

Hoping for a reasonable explanation!

since you had your car running at the time I'd say you must have hit the lock switch by mistake on the door panel .
I know car will lock if not running and left unlocked for a minute or so and it also lock once you start driving over 9mph ( safety feature)
anyways go into your mmi center locking and see what setting do you have it on
or maybe that beer you went to grab ( just kidding)

One would think it was me - or the beer, but I am 100% sure that I didn't hit the lock. No question... I had this happen to me before, but I was at home and had a spare key... I will now be hiding the valet key on the car somewhere!

That is defiantly weird, but I always roll down a window when I leave the key in the car just in case i get locked out.
