I'm about to upgrade my 2010 A6 with 18 inch wheels to 19s. Are 245/40 R19s optional as well as the 255/35 R19s? And is there a noticeable difference in feeling bumps between these two tires?

depends on the tire brand and your road conditions...plus your sensitivity in your lower back. But you will notice a difference, even though it may not be as pronounced.
