Default MMI 3360 to 4610 update question

Hello,

My MMI version is 3360 and I want to go to 4610. I have the 2 cd's from part number 4F0 998 961

When I run cd 1 (which I believe is for the BT update) it says "no update information available on CD"
To me this means there isn't anything to update. Although, it would seem odd to me that from version 3360 to 4610 there
wouldn't be any updates for BT.

I have read if you have mismatched SW and FW versions when you do the update it can really mess things up.

Anyone have any opinions if I'm safe to run CD2 since CD1 doesn't seem to be seeing anything to update?

Thanks for any input

TYhe CD1 will only update the BT box if the FW and SW is mismatched. If they are up to date it will do nothing. So if you run it and it indicates that there is nothing to update then go ahead and update the rest with CD2.

Check this thread for the SW/FW version combination that needs to be updated. Unfortunately the TSB link does not work anymore so disregard that part

Found the TSB. The process starts at Page 10

Zug 864 Procedural Overview
PS: You must have at least Version 5 or later navigation SW installed.

Thanks.

I just looked at my NAV disk and it says "version 2007"
Would that be considered version 7?

I was able to do my update to 4610 without any issues. Afterward I noticed I have a lot less options under the "car" options. I guess those options are in the hidden menu? If I hold down setup and car to get to the hidden menu nothing happens. I assume I need to go into VCDS to enable something so that holding down the setup and car button will take me to the hidden menu?

More importantly...when I go click the phone button it says "no phone installed" When I turn BT on my phone it searches for the car, I put in the 1234 password and says enabled on the phone, but the bluetooth symbol doesn't show on the MMI display and it still says no phone installed? Is this still a VCDS adjustment?

Thanks for any advice
