MMI Information
i am sure this info is hidden somewhere on this forum but my shallow search has not yielded any fruitful results.
i want to understand MMI in general.
i have a 2006 A6 with no NAV.
i would like to know how to identify which version of MMI i have, either its BASIC or HIGH? --- 2G or 3G?
i am interested in installing the Dension Gateway 500 or which ever product is compatible to my vehicle since i do not have an AUX port or ipod connector.
please point me in the right direction if this has been discussed in full details on another page or share some knowledge with me.
i am here to learn.
thanks

If it's monochrome, then you have Basic. If you have a color center dash display, then you have High.
I have a Dension 500 installed in mine and it's great!

You will have a 2G, whether it's Basic or High depends on your center dash screen. If it's monochrome, then you have Basic. If you have a color center dash display, then you have High. Here's a pic from my car which confirms I have a 2G High
The dension 500 allows you to keep your cd changer correct? Did you DIY or had it installed professionally

as for keeping the CD, yes the Dension 500 will allow you to keep the CD, which is nice. Mine was installed professionally, fwiw.

I didn't get the BT in the Dension, since I already have BT, as part of the technology package I have I the car.
It's sounds like you have the barebones C6, so may want to get the BT option in the Dension...it's certainly nice to have.
