Hey I was running at 120k on the 2004 A6 and didn't do the timing belt ( dumb I know ). TG the timing belt lasted. Car is gone now...I stepped up to a 2007 S6. I just wanted to make sure on the new A6/S6...that I need not worry bout timing belt in the future..still have to worry bout all other issues but TBelt was an expensive stress.

I asked my Audi dealer (Stafford Audi) if my 2.7 TDI was belt or chain.

YOU came into the thread and said the 2.7TDI has a CHAIN, so I informed the thread starter that it has a chain, then you came back into the thread and said it has a CAMBELT which is the same thing as a timing belt incase you did not know that, so I was trying to help out the poster by using your information since you have a 2.7TDI, but obviously if you look back over the thread you gave 2 different answers first stating it has a chain then a cambelt/timing belt, so you are wrong!

Hi I'm interested to know if anyone would know if their is a timing belt or chain on my 2012 A6 2.0 TDI.
And if theirs any problems or to look out for so I can avoid any major bills in the future!
