Default oil level low

I've just changed oil and says low.i checked it and it is low on at close to 3k miles. I used full synthetic and should be between 10 k n 100k miles. Why is my oil burning?
No leaks at all or white smoke please help

When you changed oil did you run the engine for awhile and then rechecked the level again? People have tendency to forget that the oil filter should be prefilled with oil during the oil change. They don't and then after the engine runs and the oil filter gets filled they are at the low level from the start.

according to the manual it is ok to loose up to 1qt of oil per 1000 miles (1 liter per 1500km). The difference between topped up oil level and low oil level is 1qt. So it sounds perfectly normal to loose it in 3000 miles. Simply add 1 qt of oil.

and check your oil level once in a while - the "low oil level indicator" is not the best way to keep the level in ceck.

you can check it everytime you fill the gas tank if you want. I tend to rely on the min warning as well though. Bmw did away with dipsticks so I am fairly confident in the technology. A couple things could be causing the loss though, your oil separater on the intake could be not operating correctly and sending oil into the intake or the dishcharge tube could be unhooked. also the crush washer on mine is very finicky if you tried to get by reusing the old one you probably are leaking there. either was a quart every 3k isn't the end of the world and is well within spec as mentioned before.
