Default Parking Brake nightmare

So sick and tired of this electronic parking brake. It is a damn nuisance and i wish Audi had just placed the manual parking brake instead of over-complicating things. Here is the back ground:

Last Aug, the PB error came on the dash (P with the slash in it in yellow and the brake symbol flashing in red and the Parking brake and brake lights flashing). Take it to the dealer and they replace the left motor, left harness and control module. They return the car with the MMI not working. I later figured that the 5 amp communication fuse was blown in the trunk - but that is a different story.

Didn't use the parking brake since repair. Fast forward it 13 months - I went over a slight curb while making a left turn - it wasn't a full curb just bricky like things which I didn't see since I was looking at the nav screen. Anyway, the car seemed fine. Two days later, the front left tire goes flat. Call the tow truck guy to tow to tire place since I planned to just switch to my winter tires. Gave the keys to the tow truck driver - BIG MISTAKE. I guess he engaged or tried to engage the parking brake and when the car got to the tire place, the PB errors were flashing all over. However the car was drive-able since the PB was not engaged.

Took the car to the dealer (not the one where I had taken it 13 months ago) - they charged me diagnostic and said the left motor, right harness and the control module needs to be replaced. The pictures showed the right harness was damaged - the wire was stripped and was shorting.

Took the car back - replaced the right harness (DIY), left motor and the control module. But the errors remain. I have this feeling that after replacing the control module, it has to be coded. However, when I enter the code values (exactly from the old control module) in the coding screen (which previously had all 0's), it gives me a sequence incorrect or something like that error. Does anyone have instructions on how to code this thing using VAG-COM?

I did go into Basic Setting and did the 010 and 020 test. The basic setting is not turning on for the 010 test (the OFF/ON/NEXT buttons never appear) and the motors do not open/close. Also, before performing the test, as stated in the instructions I cycled the PB ON/OFF and it looks like the PB is engaged atleast on one side - so the car wouldn't move now - yikes.

As per Bentley instructions, if control module is replaced, select "Replace" function for respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

The errors with the OLD control module are:
