Just to inform everyone, sorry for the extremely late response. I let the car sit for about 2 weeks until I could get a day off work. I drove it to the pep boys down the street from my house. They checked the oil pressure and told me the oil pressure is completely fine, I just need to get a new sensor. I drove it to the dealership, and they replaced it for me and gave it an oil change too.

Walmart JUST started carrying Castrol Edge Euro VAG BMW spec in 5 quart jugs 0w40. MADE IN GERMANY. In Denver, its what the dealers here use

Default Flashing oil pressure light

The way to determine is have someone put a gage on it and measure the pressure.

Have you been using an approved oil at the recommended interval?
I have a 2005 Audi A6 Quattro. The oil pressure light came on and I did take it to a local shop that works on German cars. The guy changed the oil and said I can bring it back to replace the oil pressure sensor. He said not to worry about driving the car. I did not bring it back and 4 months later that pressure light is now blinking. It did not start blinking while driving, in fact the car had been parked for a couple of days. I suppose that's bad right? I did not try to drive the car with the flashing pressure light..

Man, knowing how these cars can leak I would be all over a low oil or low oil pressure warning in a heartbeat. The leaks are in easily identifiable locations, the one that was wort in my case was the oil filter housing, but the o-rings on the cam solenoids cause problems when they leak small amounts.

I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I'll have to tow it in to the shop as a precaution.
