Default replaced bad TPMS sensor but warning light persists

Hey guys,

I have an 06 Avant 3.2 and would get an intermittent TPMS warning light, which I assumed was a sensor losing its battery, so I bought a non-OEM replacement from Titan TPMS. I had my mechanic use his TPMS reader to locate the bad sensor and he replaced it. I went into the MMI to "reset" the TPMS system (Car > Tire Pressure Mgmt > Change Wheels) but now I'm getting the TPMS warning light much more frequently. What gives? Is there a tried and true process to formally reset the TPMS using a VAGCOM that I don't know about? Would appreciate some assistance since this frequent warning light bugging the heck out of me!
TIA.

Happens a lot with non-OEM TPMS, go for OEM and it will go away.

Would replacing all with the same non-OEM from Titan fix the issue? I haven't heard any issues from other Audi owners who bought non-OEM sensors from them, maybe my ECU is complaining because its mixed OEM and non-OEM?

I have a similar problem with mine. Mine for over a year had been complaining on the center display (between tac and speedo) of Tyre Pressure System Malfunction. I believe the sensors were factory ones anyway, so I had new tires put on and new direct fit sensors from Dorman put on. It was fine for when I drove it home from the tire store (about 25 mins) but then the next day it goes off and I would reinitialize the wheels and it would be fine then go off again, now its back to if I reinitialize the wheels it will stay off for 20 mins then come back on. I did not change the spare, I thought the system didn't monitor it if all the other wheels were present.

to make sure I took the spare out of the car and went somewhere and did a reinitialize and it acted fine then went off again.

its getting really annoying.

I believe it will. From what I have read on these boards, it is best to replace them all at the same time.

I replaced all 4 of mine in the 4 main wheels on the car. I didn't do anything to the spare. Think I need to have the spare changed too to shut the TPMS system up? Like I said, it keeps saying Tyre Pressure System Malfunction in the center display. We reinitialized the wheels and everything.

I think it does not read the spare tire but I could be wrong. If in fact it doesn't read the spare, then the replacements may be defective.

If you want that tpms light gone without replacing the sensors this should work and disable the sensors
