Reset + for 2005 A6 Oil Reset

Happy New Year.

Does anyone know if this product will successfully reset the oil change reset on a 2005 A6?

Here is a picture of the back package, it indicates 96 - 12 Audi All "one click oil lam reset"

out of curiosity, how much is this thing and why not just get a vag-com cable and be able to do so much more?

It was a Christmas gift from my wife. So that is why I want to use it.

well in that case, if you have the receipt get a 'real' cable (i.e. VCDS) or open up that packaging and give it a try.

I see on ebay that these sell for $130...which IMHO seems pretty spendy on a tool with such a limited scope.
