I.M.O, FAR too bright. They outshine the rear lights.
They are only there to dimly illuminate the number plate.
I am all for the white light but tone it down a lot.
Royclark it's all about preference. It's indeed very bright, but not disturbing at all. I like the way it illuminates the rear of the car as if the car had "rear headlights"
You need to see this in person. In the pictures it seems too bright but with your eyes it's just perfect.
But you are mostly going to be around other cars with bright headlights so this extra light looks good as it will just shine on the license plates and disappear into the lights shining on the ground & bumper.
I just installed the kit for my S5 and it looks amazing. I also went the e-bay route with my Q5 and it was p.i.a and the leds started to flicker after a few weeks use. Didn't really save that much compared to the complete kit from deAuto either.
