Well, it seems this group could not be clearer in our recommendations. Do what you will.
As snagitseven infers, you can't do much at all without hooking up to the ODB II port in these cars, like even reset the service interval indicator. I'd compare trying to fix a computer without a keyboard with trying to troubleshoot an A6 without VAGCOM.
