Default Oil in Spark Plugs change

I Replaced spark plugs last monday, but when removing one of the six, it was soaked in oil.

Is this normal? Should I be worried about something else like a broken seal or a serious damage to the engine?

Bad valve cover gasket. Replace or expect to see some misfires in your future.

+1 on the valve gasket. you might as well do both sides and there's a good write-up on the forum...but it really is a very very easy job.

I'd strongly recommend getting good quality parts. http://genuineaudiparts.com/ is GREAT!

I'd put together a good & complete list of things you will need for the next year, since you are in Mexico. Order everything at one time and you will get a better rate and also not need to re-order as much: fuel filter, gaskets, air filter, oil filers, cabin filters....etc...

I noticed oil in the spark plug chamber when I first bought my A6 last year. My leak was coming from the lower mating surface of the cylinder head, not the valve cover gasket. Being way too lazy to pull that show apart, I cleaned the area and ran a bead of steel epoxy around the joint. Hasn't leaked since....
