Default Takata Airbag Recall, Some Audi's have them.

I got a letter from Audi that says that the passenger airbag is one of the potentially defective Takata air bags. The letter also says that they were used in certain 2005-2011 vehicles.

You can check your car for recall here --> Audi Recall Services by Vehicle Identification Number

I got one too just got around to check it. Mine says it is only the passenger airbag. They do not have a solution for the problem yet..

I checked Audi website for my 2006 A6 Avant that was assembled in 2005, and it doesn't have any recall, including the Takata airbag recall, against it.

Audi counted me in on this one too. '06 C6, built in 10/'05.

I actually got the AoA recall notice in the mail today.
says they have no parts and recommend no one ride in the passenger seat until fixed.
say what?
Is that supposed to be legal coverage?

That's their best guidance. It'll probably mitigate their liability somewhat.
Not too realistic, is it?

The letter says "...avoiding the use of the front passenger seat whenever possible....". So always have 5 people in the car, it clearly is not possible to not avoid use of the front passenger seat.

I wonder if they are still in the process of verifying? Must take some time given the number of vehicles sold. So far my cars have no recalls against them.
