I just got back from vacation and have the same notice for my 2005 with the same recommendations to avoid the use of the front passenger seat.

My 2006 A6 is also in the recall group. No notice in the mail, but I called the dealer today and he said the same as posted here: use the passenger seat as little as possible. OK, then.
My son has a 2009 Scion and Toyota gave him a new Sienna as a loaner till the Scion can be fixed. He's had it for several weeks now and is pretty happy. Will probably end up buying a Sienna.
How about it Audi?

I just checked that link and my 05 is apparently affected as well. Nobody has contacted me, Audi service did not notify me when I had my 70k service done ~ 1k miles ago.

I am disappointed that Audi would put such an airbag in the A6. My wife's Passat also had the Takata airbag too. It had been well known that the Takata airbag was not safe since the 90. Profit over safety.

After calling the dealer again, they finally located a part (even though it's apparently on backorder) and setup a time within the week to replace it for me. It's listed as a 2 hour job, they just need to remove the glove box for access.

I I finally received a recall notice from Audi. A few weeks later was able to make an appointment for the “interim fix” which was done a few weeks ago. It will have to go back in at a later date for the final fix when the parts are available.
