Default Tire Pressure?

Gang,

I just checked my tire pressure and ALL (4) are showing 25 PSI - doesnt that sound low for 245/40/ ZR-18?

Shouldnt they be around 34 PSI on all (4)?

Please confirm.

Thanks,

That is low. The sticker on the door sill of my car says for the '08 Avant the pressues should be around 40PSI front and back. I thought that was high but that's what I have them set at.

25psi is too low! Should be around 39-40 psi for 245/40 R18 and 34-35psi for 245/45 R17.

Check you Owner's Manual for detailed info. Our 2006 A6 only shows MAX load conditions on the pillar. I have to dig into the Owner's Manual to find Normal load inflation pressures:

Thanks,

I run all four at 40psi and the spare at 45psi in case it loses any. You can always lose a little air out of the spare when you come to fit it.

Way too low...
I think you should have a sticker inside of the gas door. I think that on mine says 39 front and 37 back under two people load.

You need to re check the sticker on your fuel filler door as that is too low. I usually run 36 front and 34 rear on my 3.2 Right now I have them up to 40 for better gas mileage. How long were you driving like this? If it got lower than 25psi the weight of the vehicle could have crushed the tire(s) and cause the rim to dig into the tire. Which is hard to tell unless you take it apart, but you could have what is called run flat inside your tires.

ALSO... check for inner and outer tire wear... the longer u run under inflated thats what will wear out quicker
