I had a tranny issue that I wrote about a while back. They ended up loading different software versions on the tranny and then finally switched out to blue fluid to cure the problem.

Just finished my 75k and confirmed that the stock transmission fluid is in fact the gold G055005A2. My transmission model is 6HP19. Ordering parts the parts now.

I changed to the blue fluid back at 40K. As I said, big improvement.

To change to blue fluid u have to do compleye transmission flush. Right?
And then... how do you upgrade transmission software?

Need to do a complete flush. As far as updating the software I am guessing that you are stuck with the dealer.

Here is my transmission info form VAG-COM:

Address 02: Auto Trans
Control Module Part Number: 4F2 910 156 D
Component and/or Version: AG6 09L 3,2 FSI USA 0010
Software Coding: 0000002
Work Shop Code: WSC 02325

Advanced Identification
Serial number: 4113583
Identification: ZFS-005
Revision: --H01---
Date: 24.11.05
Manufacturer number: 0087
Test stand number: EOL7
Flash Status
Programming Attempts: 0
Successful Attempts: 0
Programming Status: 00000000
Required Conditions: 00000000
Software
477477R2222
1267017177
Misc.
Hardware number: 09L 927 156 A
Immo IV Challenge: DC 1D D0 3C

All i want to do is: dropt the pan, change filter, add 4-6 bottles of fliud and be done.

No my q is what kind of fluid should i use:

(NO) Gold-G052162A2-$15 (for the C5 and also known as Esso LT 71141)
(YES)Gold- G055005A2-$35 (standard type for 2005-2007 C6 & tipronic trans)
(MAYBE) Green-G060162A2-$47 (standard type for 2008-up but need software update if you upgrading to this type)
(NO)Blue-G055162A2- $80 (for 6HP26A61A2 trans with W-12 engine only)

I think my best bet is just to use Gold- G055005A2-$35 or can i use Green-G060162A2-$47. Can i mix them up if i change just the half of the fluid.

I might consider transmission flush (and maybe using blue) if i knew that i can do software upgrade myself. How much upgrade would cost at dealer?
Thank You.

Blue is the fluid specified by Audi in its TSB. Blue is not limited to the W12.

Right, but it seems as though it's exclusive to the w-12 stock. Good info anyway.

I still haven't ordered and am now unsure if should go blue via the dealer or not.

Quite an informative thread here. I can't comment much in the way of technicals but I did notice one way I might contribute. Bariukas commented that blue atf was $80 at the dealer. I've been scratching my head trying to figure that out since we have G055162A2 (blue) for $38.54. So if you want to DIY this and only goto the dealer for a software update we can help save you some serious money.
