Want 2006-2007 A6 Avant quattro
Where is the best place to buy one of these suckers?
I've tried everywhere looking for a one owner, reasonable miles reasonable price, but have come up with nada.
Any suggestions?
many thanks

dealer auctions
I had a "online dealer" who for a fixed fee looked around the auctions in whole continental US to find it. They are pretty rare and I had limitation on price. So it took him 6 weeks to find one in Pennsylvania. Before that one there was one in California which would add 1000 in shipping.
I can give you the dealer's phone if you want it. He speaks mostly Russian.

When I purchased my '06 A6 Avant, I ran into the same problem of not finding an A6 Avant locally. I searched on Cars.com and eBay, and found a large percnetage of the A6 Avants located in the upper midwest or on the upper East coast (I'm located in the PNW). After several attempts at lining one up, I finally purchased mine from an eBay dealer (Bethesda Motors), which has two locations - one in Frederick, MD, and the other in Boca Raton, FL. The car was originally from Long Isalnd, NY, and came off a 3-year lease. My suggestion would be to do a search on cars.com and eBay like I did to see if there is one near you that interests you, and then go from there. I usually found a couple on eBay, and about 40 – 60 on Cars.com. BTW, I would recommend the '07 over the '06 because you can get the advanced Partronic (w/ camera) that wasn't offered with the '06s, plus you get the front seat lower storage that was dropped in '08.

Thank you for this suggestion.
I see a number of vehicles showing up in MSN, cars.com nytimes etc being sold by dealers that have been bought at auction after lease expiry etc.
I see very few audi a6 avants being sold privately which i find strange.
Thanks for your suggestion
Cheers

Interesting Gary, many thanks.
I love my 99 Avant but it now has 140,000 miles and body is starting to rust.
If I could find a good 06 or 07 at a reasonable price, less than 32, I would be happy.
I found what looked like a promising 06 but it has 70,000 miles and two owners which turnmed me off.\
Thanks again

I am the original owner a metallic grey '06 Avant with all the options except adjustable suspension. She has 35,000 miles. I'm wondering what you would consider a reasonable price?
