Honestly I'm not mental but needing technical expertise..
Both cars automatic, have all the wiring harnesses and ECU's.. My 3.2 has died after a tensioner collapsed and scraped my cams, bent valves, chain stretched etc but got the option of putting the 5.0 in instead of rebuilding.. Firstly... Will it fit and secondly how much of an ordeal will it be?? many thanks for all your knowledge

That would be a pretty awesome swap, but I think you might be better off with trying a 4.2 swap, if anything.

Off the top of my head the S6/RS6 have a larger transmission tunnel, so I don't think it would fit into a 3.2 chassis. I think you would need a new engine harness, new transmission, exhaust, modifications to the firewall/transmission tunnel. It would be very labor intensive, and would probably never run correctly.

From what I've seen on the forums getting your hands on an engine for a good price would be difficult as well. I think they go for upwards of $5,000 just for the engine.

Already have the engine/transmission, wiring harness and Ecu's. Wasn't sure if same transmissions. Do expect a few headache's but my first query is if it will fit in to the body and if anyone ever done it before?? thanks

As far as I'm aware it will not fit without modifying the transmission tunnel for fitment. The packaging of the V10 5.0 is quite a bit larger than the V6 3.2. Hopefully someone else can chime in on this for you.

Audi replaced my 3.2 engine at 75k (long story), but that was a PITA and we had to bring it back a bunch of times because it wasn't quite right
