Default Any recent extended warranty experiences?

morning Audi drivers!

I am approaching 40k, and have started thinking about getting an extended warranty for my '12 A7. Definitely planning on keeping the car for at least another 3 years.

Looking for some guidance and feedback on extended warranties. I have heard of Fidelity, not sure if there are any other reputable companies out there that I should ask for a quote?

Any feedback or recommendations are much appreciated!

In 2012 bought a Route 66 Extended Warranty for my 2008 BMW 535XiT at 47 months and 42K miles - extending the warranty for another 60 (yes 60) months or a total of 100K miles (which ever came first). Only sold by credit unions, the cost was $2500 for a $0 deductible policy. All warranty work done at BMW dealer, who was paid directly by Route 66. Paid for itself in 1st 2 repairs. It is tranferable and I sold it with the car. Yes - I'd use them again.

FYI, Route 66 warranty says it excludes Audi. Only some BMWs are excluded so it looks like Phoenix1 was able to get his through.

You are right - I had no idea they excluded all Audis! They do cover 3 and 5 series BMW's, so I just assumed. Too bad...

They may start excluding BMWs with the twin turbo V8. It's pretty ugly right now. BMW has a "Customer Care" program going on for them that is very extensive and they can't keep up.

If they didn't eliminate BMW for the twin turbo 6 in the 2008-2010 models, the new V8's won't matter...

Thank you for the info. Too bad that they exclude Audi (and are Credit Union only).

I finally got a 2-year and 3-year quote from Fidelity (Carchex?). We are talking $3.8k for 3 / 36,000. Seems like a LOT. Also don't like that their contract allows for used parts to be used. Ugh.

I am gonna try to get some other quotes and see if I can get this at a better price, with NO used parts in the contract

OUCH$$$

May be best to "self insure" and have a cash reserve for repairs...
