Anyone done European Delivery?
Audi publishes a 5% discount off of MSRP. Is that in stone or can you negotiate with the dealer? Getting ready to talk to the dealer about ordering one for delivery in the summer. Any advice is appreciated.

Check out the Euro Delivery forum on this board, but here is a link to my story (mostly pics)

Couple tips for anyone thinking about doing ED
1) Find a dealer that know what he/she is doing. Doing ED has a lot of steps and not to mention a lot of paperwork. Certain docs need to be sent in at certain times and having a Sales Rep that knows the process makes it seamless.
2) Be flexible. Delivery dates will be confirmed late in the process and you will need to book hotel, airfare and other items late in the process so being flexible is key.
3) Think about where you are going in your brand new car and if you want your brand new car to actually go to that location. Europe has some wonderful cities, but they are less than car friendly. Call ahead to hotels to ask about parking and / or car storage
4) Autobahn is great, but better than that is getting off the major highways and seeing Europe from the secondary roads
5) Have fun... Its a great experience.

I'm also hoping to purchase thru ED, but unfortunately, my dates to arrive and depart Europe are not flexible.
I'm curious if anyone has any comment on how likely my requested delivery date will be met if I order now - 3 months in advance.
I'm ready to purchase and order now (Feb '15) and need to pick up on May 18.
Wondering if 3 months is early enough to ensure with little or no doubt the car is ready for pick up on May 18. Otherwise, I'll just have to buy here.
Anyone have a sense for this?
Thanks

Best to ask your Audi specialist, but perhaps they can request a build date a week or 2 before May 18th and then hold it at the Forum for you.
Make sure you have a specialist that has done more than few Euro deliveries and know the process well

Good point. I could ask for a date before I'll be there. I think they will hold it for 30 or 60 days. That would be no problem.
I keep reading about how it is important to have a specialist that is familiar with the ED program.
-Thanks

The A6 is ordered for delivery in Neckarsulm on June 29. Price was MSRP less 6% and $1500 loyalty, free inspection fees. I negotiated with five local dealers, and this was the best. 3 of the 5 gave 6% off. Only one did not require VAT cash or undeposited check.
