Audi A4 Squealing Brakes

Audi A4 Squealing Brakes
My 2015 A4 has squealing brakes. I have brought it in to dealership several times, but am always told the same thing. Nothing is wrong with brakes. The squealing is caused by the high performance brake pads and there is nothing I can do about it. I find this response unacceptable. Any help?

Find a straight road with little traffic. At 50-60 mph hit the brakes HARD, just short of locking. Do this several times, allowing a few minutes between for brakes to cool. Has worked for me on an A6 and my RS5 after front rotor and pad replacement. There is a TSB on this, # 2017130/8.

Thanks. Have heard this before, and will give it a try. However, continue to be super disappointed that an expensive brand like Audi would have this problem. We would have considered buying another car if told the breaks have tendency to squeal. It is so loud sometimes, it is embarrassing!

I am on my 10th Audi in last 30 years, only two had the problem, a 2005 A6 and my '13 RS5 after front rotor and pad replacement. So, don't be too hard on the brand, and the fix will work.

My 2001 A6 had noisy brakes if the car sat for a long time. A friend who is a mechanic called it "rot lot" as the rotors would lightly rust from lack of use. The noise would go away after they were used.

Don't get me wrong, I have been in love with my Audi.........until the brakes started squealing about 4-5 months ago. That has led to such frustration! I will try the fix, but waiting for the right time. Always either seem to have the kids with me, or there is a lot of traffic. Thanks for the feedback.

OP - while squealing brakes can be a universal issue with any Audi, be advised if you have a 2015 A4, you might want to post your questions in the A4 B8 forum.
