Default Audi A7 US version vs. European “Sportback” version?

Is the body of the 2017 A7 that is currently sold in the US the same as the A7 European “Sportback” version?

I see NO use of the word “Sportback” on the US website in regards to the A7.

US:

UK:

Thanks!

I am not sure what you mean by this or getting at? Its the same car and its been out for a few years. Before you ask a very straightforward question please look at the pictures online and see for yourself.

In the US, we use the term "hatchback" instead of "Sportback". Hatchback has bad conations, so manufacturers avoid labeling their 5-door cars as hatchbacks now. If you see that a car has 5 doors, then it's probably a hatchback, which is the same as a Sportback.

As far as I know, the only significant difference between the US 2017 A7 body and the European 2017 A7 body is that the US car gets red reflectors on the rear bumper and amber side markers in front of the front wheel wells (as required by the US DOT).

Thank you Alpine Al. That’s just the kind of clarification I was looking for! Now I understand the use of the term “sportback” as merely regional branding.

Actually number 5 is wrong, the C7 A7 which is what I have comes with a cover for the front cup holders. Not the newer C8 A7s which are 2019 onwards. You are stating all the facts including the USB ports for the C8 A7s..
