Default audi aftermarket warranty

The audi dealerships here offer a 6 year 100k warranty. What does this cover, just powertrain?

First of all, where are you located? In the US?

Keep in mind Audi does not offer extended warranties except on CPO used cars. These third party warranties like Fidelity offer different versions of various coverages. You should ask your dealer for a copy of the warranty being offered to learn what is and isn't covered and other details like deductibles, when the warranty takes effect, etc. Most 6 year/100K warranties run concurrently with the OEM warranty effectively adding 2 more years or an additional 50K miles whichever comes first.

The original 4 year / 50k covers just about everything ( electric problems included). So you are saying the extended warranty offered by the audi dealer covers the same thing? This is a CPO car by the way. tks

Your thread title stated aftermarket which is not a CPO. A CPO will not cover everything an OEM warranty would plus there is an $85 deductible for each visit.

I Googled this in 5 seconds for you:

the extended warranty looks pretty good. covers more than I thought it did.
in fact I'm not sure what the original covers that the extended doesn't, except maybe the rotors.

Don't confuse the terms. An extended warranty is a third party, expensive warranty not backed by Audi. A CPO warranty which is backed by Audi is exclusive to pre-owned cars sold by a dealer. CPOs (theoretically) must meet certain standards, i.e. under 50K miles, condition, etc. Dealers pay Audi to CPO a car which is passed on to the new owner, one way or the other, in the purchase price.

No warranty will cover wear item like brakes. Unlike the OEM warranty, the CPO does not cover a good portion of the electronics/entertainment systems and several other systems. Read the CPO coverages carefully. If not listed, they aren't covered.
