Default Auto Volume Adjust

Not sure if this is just B&O only or if it happens with the Bose system as well, but the volume will actually fluctuate on its own depending on speed, a/c fan setting, etc.

Does anyone know how to deactivate this?

It's purpose is to adjust the volume based on interior noise relative to your volume setting. I'm pretty sure the C7s don't have a way to turn this off in the settings. I do seem to remember where the amount of volume compensation can be adjusted with Vag-Com. That might also turn it off. Perhaps someone can chime in if they have found a way to do a mod.

On a related note, after backing up and the system mutes itself it does not always come back on when I put it in drive. Sometimes it does, sometimes not. It's a crap shoot. Anyone else?

Yes, which is exactly why it makes no sense. There's a reason for a volume setting and that's so it stays at the level I set it at no matter what the circumstances. If I want it louder or softer I'm pretty sure I'm capable adjusting on my own and when I want.

And it seems like a vag-com really can solve most issues....

In the Sound Setting, adjust "Dynamic Sound" to minimum to turn off this feature.

I forgot about this setting. In my A6, with the Bose system it's called "AudioPilot" and with the B&O it's called "Volume Balancing". With the Bose it can only be turned on or off; with the B&O the amount of noise compensation is variable from off to max. These should be located in the sound settings menu.

Me too. My radio will turn itself on about 75% of the time when I shift from reverse to drive. It is very flaky.
