Best color for black optic?

I was recently in the Audi showroom on Park Lane in London. Almost all the VERY high end cars, like RS 7, R8, were in Nardo Grey. Very handsome. This was far from a typical Audi showroom. Surprised they let me in!

Seems backwards to me. I would think you'd start with a color you love and decide if black optics looks best or the aluminum trim. For example, to me Nardo only looks good with black optics, but the two whites only looks good with aluminum.

My wife wanted a ibis white a7, but her favorite a7 with black optics was Daytona gray. I wanted gray and she said no way (we have dirt and salt everywhere in northern michigan). However her favorite build and online pics were a clean (I stress clean...) Daytona gray with Bo package.

Clearly I am biased. Black on black optics is great. I got a lot of compliments driving the red S5 but I get as many with my A7. It has a sinister look to it which is fine by me
