Facelift Worth Upgrading
For those of you who upgraded from the 2012-2015 models to the facelifted 2016 A7 (or A6), have you found the improvements worth the cost? Which improvements made the most difference to you if it was worth it. Thanks.

I just traded a 2015 for a 2016. I actually have not taken delivery yet, I pick it up in a couple of days. I did test drive one though. Let me just say that the changes are not why I traded, and I felt no difference in the driving, including the extra power. After I've driven it a few weeks in my normal drives I will see if I feel a difference.
There are of course minor changes in the MMI, and you can now bring up an actual nav map between the gauges. But to me these are no big deal.
I'll try to remember to report back in a few weeks.

I just picked up a CPO 2013 Prestige over six weeks ago.
When brought it to the dealership for its follow a few weeks back, the dealer let me test drive a 2016 Prestige.
There were small cosmetic differences - the grill, the shifter, the wood - etc. They were nice enough, but they weren't $25k differences between what I paid. And the cars drive nearly identically - I couldn't feel the 20-whatever extra horses or torque.
My CPO had 17k miles on it. I saved a ton of cash and last weekend got my wife a BMW i3.
The two are a great combination.
If you bought a brand new A7, great. You did very well and you should enjoy your new, wonderful ride.
But if you have the 2012 to 2015; frankly you're doing just fine.
Save yourself the worry or the chase. Fund a few great trips to cool places instead. Or even better, fund someone's education to a private college somewhere.

I'll do a full write up when I have more time. There are some pluses and minuses. Basically it does feel faster (and I'm always a skeptic on what horsepower people feel). It does get better mileage if the readouts are comparable in their accuracy. The downs are that the F'ing start/stop has to be turned off every time you get in the car, and drivability from a dead stop is not as smooth as my 15 was.
