Getting to the end of my warranty
Hey guys, so I have about 1.5 year left of CPO warranty on my 2012 A7. I'm trying to get some opinions on whether I should extend the warranty/ sell the car/ or wish for the best and ride it out. I love the car and have no problems with it but driving German after warranty is out creeps me out. My model has all the options which means more things that can break, should I just get rid of it after CPO warranty is finished.
BTW if someone is looking for a white prestige with B/O, Night vision, sport package, and all the other bells and whistles let me know.

Sounds like you've got a solid build...if you still love it and it's been good, i would not be concerned about keeping it. These are proven reliable machines if you maintain it well.
Now, if you're craving something new and looking for an excuse to make a switch, then the warranty expiration is always a good excuse though you will likely incur much higher costs with getting another car vs. keeping and maintaining what you got. I say, tune it, and enjoy

I wouldn' be concern keeping it. You can get the extra 50k miles warranty up to 100k if you like. I had that on my 2006 Audi A8 and 2012 Audi A8L. The 2006 A8 was solid and ran up to 170k miles and didnt have any major issues. Just regular suspension redo and timing belt were the major ones. The 2012 Audi A8L is now at 110k miles and I had it since new and its so far so good and I had to get the rear left air suspension replaced under extended warranty at 80k miles but thats about it. Audis now are very solid and can last alot of miles with good maintenance regardless of warranty. My 2016 Audi A7 is with only 20k miles and its very good so far and I wont hesitate to keep it past warranty.

Interesting thread for me. I'm going to pull the trigger soon (after I sell my 09 BMW 535wagon) on either a 2014 A or S7. The biggest concern I have about the S is the air suspension and the up keep costs. I usually drive a car for at least 5 years (buy them CPO) and then up to about 120-150k miles. Is it worth it to get the extended warrantee after the CPO runs out? I know they are expensive and they all cover different thing. The one thing about the Merc CLS-550 is that it's a CPO with no co pay and they offer the upgraded unlimited miles warrantee for a couple of more years and it's only about 3k or so upfront (negotiable). I don't think it's through corp Mercedes though. Does Audi offer this type of extended warrantee etc...Thoughts??

Getting this thing tuned !
Hey Guys,
Sorry I never responed to my question but all of your input helped me make my final decision. So next week I am going in for the following upgrades:
GIAC Stage 2 Tune + Pulley
Injen Intake install
RS7 Style Grille
My question now is, should I tune the transmission as well? I am not concered about improved performance from the transmission, i'm looking for improving reliability. Do you guys think I should tune the transmission as well? I am moving to an S7 probably next year so I don't want to invest too much money.
Thanks !

if moving into S7 next yr and will be selling this one then I wouldn't do any more than maintenance. you wont get all the cost back of performance tune etc on the retail market when sell. bu tthat's me. I have a 2012 prestige S-line package myself and I love it just the way it is.
