I test drove a black/black/layered oak and thats originally how I was going to be ordering it but something about the combo really turned me off. I think the layered oak is absolutely gorgeous but the aluminum makes the car look so sporty inside and that was my goal. The layered oak with the black just looked kind of strange...almost as if there were one too many colors going on. My eyes didn't know where to go first and I found that annoying...

I should also add that the ash wood looked equally bad on the black interior.

Is the layered oak available in the US? I think it looks good with the lighter interior. Will be test driving an A7 shortly for a year end purchase and like the look of this option. Competition will be the CLS550 and the new Jaguar XF Supercharged (not available until September)

It's not available.

The only options are aluminum, ash brown (natural finish) or dark walnut (glossy finish).

Thanks. That, coupled with the non availibility of Havana Black and Dakota Grey (IMO the best two colors) will certainly be a mark down for the Audi. Also don't like what I have read about the seats.
Going to try and be objective about all three cars when I drive them...

I was originally a fan of Dakota but after seeing Dakota and Oolong side by side on the A7, we went with Oolong.

Are you in the US? Pics or it never happened.

There is no layered oak in the US.

I think it looks very good. The ash brown is the more exotic of the bunch and the only one with wow factor. We chose it along w/ the Nougat brown leather as my wife felt it looked more special.

The aluminum is OK but a bit tacky and A3/A4 like. The walnut is just average and what you'd expect in any other luxo sedan.

Yes, in the U.S.

The dealership I bought my car from is in North Jersey, if the car is still there when I pick my own up I will take pictures.

Sorry, still disagree with the ash wood. Although its nice I think of a 55 year old man driving the car...its just too "old" for me.

Now my husbands completely redone alcantara/carbon fiber in his R8 is a whole different ball game.
